Effekte
wie Frauengesang, Glocken, Pauken, Keyboards, Akustikgitarren, mittelalterlich
wirkende Orgeltöne etc. wurden mit Fingerspitzengefühl
im Gesamtsound integriert. Die wirk nie deplaziert und mach aus
Songs wie `I Face The Eternal Winter` herrliche Panoramaklangbilder.
Nicht zu vergessen Sänger Silenius, der die überzeugenden
und einmal gar deutsch verfassten Texte gewohnt extatisch interpretiert.
Die 49 Minuten schwärzester Tonkunst nötigen mich zur
inneren Verbeugung. Eines der besten BM-Alben überhaupt.
ABLAZE / Bruder Cle

his
is the 3rd ABIGOR CD within just one year
It's again (of course)
nordic styled black metal, but this time they haven't got as many
fast parts as before, and especially this makes `Nachthymnen` the
best ABIGOR release so far. They are very strong when they play
mid tempo parts, it has more atmosphere and feeling, and is a sign
for the bands quality. Another great thing is the CD cover which
looks just phenomenal. Finally a great Black Metal release!
TALES OF THE MACABRE
achthymnen
is the third album from the satanic black metal horde known as Abigor.
For those that have heard the more new works from Abigor, and did
not care too much for them let me just say don't be to quick to
right them off as bad. This album certainly is one of the more interesting
albums Abigor has made, and that's mostly just due to the fact that
they went all out on this album, and really experimented. Yes the
album is very, very heavy, but they also add female vocals, synth,
some clean vocals, and a hell of a lot of killer guitar riffs!
One of the songs on this album that really just blew me away was
the 5th song 'As astral Images darken Reality.' Given the fact that
this band is mostly all about just being heavy as possible the majority
of the time it was nice to hear some really nice guitar work in
this one. It starts out with these very cool guitar riffs &
semi brutal drums, and then slows up a bit and there's some clean
vocals, and female ohhh & ahhh kind of vocals in the background.
Shortly their after the song picks up a bit, but not to the point
where it blows the listeners speakers apart. If that song was not
cool enough let's move on over to the second song 'Scars in the
landscape of God.' Upon first buying this album I had not heard
a single song from the album so I had no clue what to expect, but
I certainly did not expect heavenly angelic female vocals to open
this song with! This song has many parts where it's fast, but then
there's parts where it cools off a bit, and goes at a good pace.
The female vocals are rather brief in the song so maybe it would
have been cooler if they had let her sing more. Although the album
is pretty damn good it's not the catchiest album so you probably
won't find yourself listening to it all that much. Nachthymnen is
one of the best of the early Abigor albums, and is very recommended
to people whom like the current style or those who enjoy in your
face brutal music.
